Migration

The Campsbourne Estate is home to a diverse range of residents who have come from countries including Albania, Bangladesh, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Nigeria, Pakistan, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sudan, St Lucia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine and Zimbabwe.

Our community research development course explored some of our migration journeys through auto-ethnographic research including rivers and maps.

We now work closely with the Kurdish Advice Centre, who serve both the Turkish-speaking community and anyone else from any background in need of advice and support around migration, housing and welfare.

Some of our community researchers have also been involved with an arts-based project on ‘nature-based integration’ led by Kingston University in collaboration with ‘Living Under One Sun’ in Tottenham.
